Regional Focus

NZ China Direct is limiting it's regional reach in both China and New Zealand to those regions where there are substantial markets and capability, easily assessable from both China and New Zealand.

This has led to the establishment of NZ China Direct's beachhead China office in Shanghai, connected to it's New Zealand equivalents in Auckland and Rotorua. These cities are serviced three times a week by Air New Zealand and Air China.

Auckland and Rotorua provide a strong platform to access the food, timber and manufacturing capabilities of the Auckland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty and Canterbury regions within New Zealand. While Shanghai provides access to the huge markets of the Yangtse Delta, including the provinces of Shanghai, Jiangsu, Anhui and Zhejiang. Within 1.5 hours commute of our Shanghai office are 5 cities with populations over 5 million people, and the 20 million residents of Shanghai.
