Rotorua Town 
Nanjing "Rotorua Town" is a large residential property development underway in Jiangning District of Nanjing, China.
Nanjing "Rotorua Town" is an international public private partnership between Nanjing Moon Building Group and Rotorua District Council based on a formal economic cooperation agreement signed in 2005.
Nanjing "Rotorua Town" is located approximately 30 minutes from the centre of downtown Nanjing, creating a peaceful residential environment. The development emphasizes sustainable living, building off the Rotorua brand. The theme for the development is "People living in harmony with nature".
Residents of the town live in large villas, containing two, three of four apartments. The town plan is for 2000 homes and several apartment complexes, housing over 7000 residents, set on 30 hectares of park-like grounds. The entire town is planned to be completed by 2011. Stage 1 of this popular development sold out quickly, commanding premium prices.
The town is well situated to attract wealthy, young professionals, located in close proximity to several high tech industrial parks, and a well developed education centre.
At the heart of Nanjing "Rotorua Town", a commercial hub features 800 meters (road frontage) of newly constructed retail space. NZ China Direct Ltd has been working with the developers on identifying suitable market opportunities for NZ products to be retailed within this commercial hub. Apparel 
As a result of our work on Nanjing RotoruaTown we were introduced to IceBreaker and their global success story. We immediately recognised an opportunity to develop an apparel concept store in Shanghai, complimenting the proposed New Zealand Concept Centre proposed for XianTanDi.
Xian Tan Di is a sophisticated clique area which attracts some of the most sophisticated shoppers in the world. We think this location lends itself to also launch some of New Zealand's leading apparel labels in a New Zealand concept store - building upon the critical mass and focus that will undoubtedly occur within this area for New Zealand goods and services.
NZ China Direct is committed to seeing through it's commitment to IceBreaker and testing the feasibility of establishing such a store in Xian Tan Di.
